Characteristics of communication skills in children belonging to multispecies families

ABSTRACT Purpose to investigate the communicative skills of children belonging multispecies families whose pet is a dog. Methods this an exploratory, descriptive, qualitative, cross-sectional study. Sample: 34 subjects both sexes aged three 3 4 years and 5 months families. The study was conducted at subjects’ own homes. Procedure: data were collected through observation filming 30-min interaction situation in family routine involving presence Analysis results: analyzed content analysis categories then established regarding most relevant verbal nonverbal elements, with emphasis on child-dog-adult interlocutor interactions. Results results showed that dog played role during scenes, effects child’s functions. Conclusion point possible benefits Further studies theme are suggested.
